How do I install it without an app store?
PinScape is a web app you install straight from your browser: open the link you receive after purchase, tap "Add to home screen" (your phone will offer it), and it appears alongside your other apps — icon, full screen, offline and all. It takes about thirty seconds, and your purchase email walks you through it with pictures.
Does it work offline, in the mountains?
Yes — that's the point. Saving spots, browsing your logbook, and reading notes all work with zero signal. You'll only need a connection for map imagery you haven't viewed before and for driving directions.
Where is my data stored?
On your device, and nowhere else. PinScape has no account, no cloud, and no analytics peeking at your locations. A built-in backup lets you export everything to a file, so your spots survive anything that happens to your phone. Your favorite locations stay yours only !
What if I change phones?
Export a backup on the old phone, install PinScape on the new one, import the file. Your license covers activation on two devices, so a phone and a tablet — or an old phone and its successor — are both covered.
Do I get updates?
Yes — updates arrive automatically the next time you open the app while online. No stores, no update buttons, nothing to manage.
